OUR HISTORY
Hawthorn Doctors started as The Medical Clinic, nearly 30 years ago under Dr Barry Teperman. Dr Barry and Dr Penne Preston have been providing exemplary care and commitment to Hawthorn’s wonderful community.
Last year, Dr Barry expressed an intention to reduce his administrative work, but was reluctant to sell the clinic to a corporate business, instead deciding to wait for like-minded GPs who would nurture the practice, the staff and the clients with a principled, non-corporate approach.
In late 2024, the practice was acquired by Dr Satya and Dr Ganesh, both UK-trained GPs who have been working in the north of Melbourne since 2010. Together with Dr David Carruthers, and Dr Manasi (both also experienced and trained in the UK), the entire team is committed to delivering evidence based, family-oriented GP care to adults and children alike.
Dr Barry and Dr Penne will continue working as GPs in the years to come.
